SOLO FIT™ (FUNCTIONAL FITNESS PROGRAM)

SOLO is a functional fitness and lifestyle program that customizes the concept of balance for each person.  This can apply to fitness, diet, lifestyle and career. The SOLO program brings together key frameworks from Mind-Body disciplines as well as Psychology in understanding individual behaviours, personalities and emotions.  SOLO considers where you began, where you currently are starting from and what is your own destined and unique ideal calibration point that fits your lifestyle, goals and synchronizes with others in your life.   Finding balance has been the pursuit of so many over the years and SOLO makes this concept even more deliberate and achievable by helping you discern what keeps you in balance and what things challenge you in maintaining balance.

Any one of the following programs can be your starting point for learning and exploring, discerning and making conscious the right choices for your unique and desired approach to a balanced life.

SOLO FIT™ ALIGN (Posture & Alignment)

Posture is one of the first things we develop on our own as infants learning to crawl, stand and move.  The methods we use can vary from such a young age in terms of how we begin to find our posture.  Some crawl, some shuffle, some stand, some run, and some walk.  Gait and posture are quite unique and can change with age.  Although there are ideal postures, there is also the concept of balance, alignment, and functional and dysfunctional adaptations.  In working with our clients we will see a myriad assortment of compensations, weight distribution, and functional or dysfunctional results.  Helping our clients explore their approach to movement and posture and strength is a skill and wisdom that develops the more we seek answers, build rapport with clients and trust our intuition.  In this workshop we will begin to explore the concept of Posture and Movement and consider elements such as emotions, injury, compensations, energy, and psychology.   To create the best and most effective programming for your clients you need to begin with an understanding of posture, gait patterns, and structural integration.  This knowledge and intuition allows you to select the most effective approach for your client to ensure muscles balance over the course of their training, that posture is where it should be and that you can identify imbalances and cue to resolve these through an understanding of fascial lines.  This workshop explores constitution, chakras, injury, and illnesses.

There are many ways to understand, observe and assess our client’s posture, alignment, and approach to movement.  There are just as many strategies and opportunities to improve and evolve our client’s posture.   Generally we begin with a benchmark of the ideal posture, and knowledge of functional approaches to movement, and we intervene with strategies around proprioception, alignment, core balance and muscle firing patterns. Despite our best efforts, we may observe over time that some clients stay committed to their dysfunctional posture, despite the fact that it is causing tension.  The reality is that posture evolves in line with our experiences, our environment and our psychology.  Our clients may be emotionally and psychologically committed to their posture, and our role as their instructor or therapist may be to better understand what is keeping our client committed to elements of their dysfunctional postures emotionally and psychologically.

In this workshop we will introduce several methods of understanding posture including structural assessment, muscle balance, alignment, gait patterns, foot biomechanics, and the concepts that myofasical meridiens and tensegrity (tension + integrity) brings to our understanding of observed assymetry.  Beyond the functional methods listed above we will also touch on energy, breathing, and consider how the posture can be interpreted form a psychological, energetic and emotional perspective.  As practitioners we have an opportunity to work with our clients to better understand and introduce to our clients awareness, strategies and support to begin to move and carry themselves differently for better health, energy and emotional balance.

SOLO FIT™ PLAY (Play & Restore)

New fitness methods are being launched more now than ever.  What makes a fitness method successful, popular may not be the same things that make it relevant, appropriate and balancing for each individual.   Individuals will enjoy, pursue and stick with fitness methods for different reasons including good marketing, seeing other peoples results or enjoyment of the fitness method, and on a personal basis individuals may find the fitness method fills a need they have.  However, each individual may be at a slightly different starting point in terms of balance or imbalance.  An individual that has a lifestyle that is imbalanced significantly or for a long period of time will have a tendency to pursue things that are more imbalancing to them.  An individual who is more consciously aware of balance and is either living a balanced life or is dealing with small deviations from balance, will tend to make a more conscious and aware choice that keeps them in balance.  Strategies and habits are different in that a strategy is a more mindful, intelligent choice when habits may be defeating.  In SOLO FIT we want to help you learn more about your own SOLO FIT strategies, and how to enhance your client’s awareness of their choices and habits and build better strategies to learn what balance feels like.  Our approach to movement can have three primary effects of Calming/grounding/stillness/inspiration to Surrender/flow/strength to Energy/cardio/movement.

SOLO FIT™ NLP (Teaching & Language)

To teach clients and meet them where they are at requires a sometimes intuitive and sometimes sophisticated use of words and cues.  In this workshop we will explore some of the key clusters of words and cues that resonate and engage your clients based on constitution, environment, goals and mode of fitness.  Learn to inspire, challenge and support clients to meet them where they are at.

SOLO programming incorporates a framework or model that meets clients where they are at.
How we engage in fitness is not a one size fits all.
Some forms of fitness may feel more or less stressful to a person depending on their constitution or current state.
Understanding how to program and approach your teaching with this in mind can make all the difference.
A client's experience of a class and can also impact short and long term health and stress levels.
